Enea Bastianini becomes Moto2 World Champion together with Italtrans Racing Team
A finish with a sweet, unparalleled, refined, BESTIAL flavour.
This was the Portuguese Grand Prix, the last round of the MotoGP World Championship. Race number fifteen of a season that we will never be able to forget, which will certainly be remembered in the history books of motorcycling between cancellations and postponements. A championship which, due to a common and invisible enemy, had to close its doors to fans, who continued to experience it only through television. But the emotions were not lacking.
We challenged Covid-19, a new calendar, the other teams and their drivers, and in the end we reached the finish line of this beautiful circuit in Portugal as World Champions, with the checkered flag waving to put a point in a race of 23 laps which however seemed like an eternity.
Enea Bastianini, who arrived in Portimao with a lead of 14 points over Lowes, 18 over Marini and 23 over Bezzecchi, did not lose clarity and with determination and imposition took the Moto2 title. A success that comes at the end of a season as a true protagonist, with
3 victories, 1 second place, 3 thirds and the other placings practically always in the top ten.
His race today was a lucid, calculated, flawless race, with a final fifth position which earned him the World Championship. The best result to conclude the experience in Moto2 and arrive in MotoGP as World Champion.
Lorenzo Dalla Porta concluded his rookie season by finishing the race just outside the points with a sore shoulder.
On behalf of the Italtrans Racing Team, a big thank you to Dorna and Irta for making the championship possible, but above all to all the partners and sponsors who have chosen to stand by us in this difficult and particular, but also incredible season.
See you in 2021!

Enea Bastianini #33 – 5th
“It was a difficult season, but we managed to leave without ever ceasing to believe we could win the title. Being here today is incredible. There are so many emotions inside me. This is the best day of my entire life! It was my last race in Moto2 with Mia, my bike, and it wasn't easy to manage at all: it was impossible to win, but with the fifth final position I managed to win the title. I dedicate this victory to Italtrans, to Mrs. Laura, to Germano and Claudio Bellina, to the whole team, to my family, to my girlfriend and to the people who were close to me".

Lorenzo Dalla Porta #27 – 17th
“I was hoping to get some points today, but my shoulder didn't allow me to do better. I would have liked to end the season better and demonstrate the progress made this year. Now it's time to do a reset before I start working again this winter - I can't wait to go again next year. Thanks to the team for the work done and for never stopping supporting me."
Franco Brugnara – Crew Chief
“Lorenzo gave his all in a difficult race due to the condition of his shoulder. We have reached the end of his rookie year, but we are already ready to continue working together to grow. Today we celebrate the great work of the whole team with the Moto2 title won by Enea! Excellent!".

Giovanni Sandi – Technical Director
“There are few words to describe this moment. Winning a World Cup is a unique emotion. In these two seasons together with Enea we have worked a lot and the result achieved today is the culmination of all our efforts. He's a great driver and I'm proud of what we achieved together. It's a memorable moment. Thanks to Italtrans and all the partners for making this dream possible."
